Instead of describing changes through traditional numerical LUT data, Hald images encode color mapping directly into the pixels of an image. Essentially, a Hald image allows you to transform colors from one space to another by acting like a 3D LUT (Look-Up Table), which is a mathematical model that remaps one set of color values to another.
